About Us

Thunder Road Model Car Club was formed in 2006 and is run by a group of friendly radio car enthusiasts.

It’s home track is Thunder Road Raceway, which is a purpose built, outdoor, off road, dirt track in Wenhams Lane, Ivychurch, Romney Marsh, Kent, TN29 0AW

The Club is affiliated to the British Radio Car Association (BRCA) which is the regulatory body for the sport in the UK. Membership of the BRCA gives the Club and the Individual 3rd Party Insurance protection. The BRCA is, itself, recognized by the Motor Sport Association, the governing body of all Motor Sport in the UK, and the hobby is officially a Motor Sport.

TRMCC runs race days every fortnight, between April and October, for Rally Cross (Buggy), Outlaw Trucks (Truggy) and Monster Trucks. These are friendly events, but can get a bit competitive as there is a Championship at stake. The emphasis, however, is on a fun day of Club racing. Everybody is welcome to the race days whether young or old, skilled or newcomers. There is always someone willing to help out.

On the web site there is a  Forum at: www.thunderroadracing.forumup.com/ where information, news, gossip and help is always available.

If you follow the links, all the Club news and details are on there, including a map and directions to the Track, as well as advice from other Members on repairing or maintaining your car, and links to useful sites and Model Shops.

So, whether you are a ‘Newby’ or an ‘Old Hand’ there is something for you, with regular racing, raffles, competitions, help getting started and honing your skills, and friendly banter.

Have a look through the web site and forum, and try a day at the track, we’re sure you will enjoy it.
